Correction

Several readers have sent me email explaining that the reader email I posted earlier on outsourcing has some math problems. For example:

You might want to think through the figures in your post on outsourcing. The reader said that his company outsourced 12 IT positions to India. The remaining 3,000 benefited from ‘aggressive cost cutting’. Well, if the point that outsourcing those 12 positions was aggressive, then think again. Those positions represent only 0.4% of the companies payroll. Hardly significant.
