Cotton’s Former Drill Sgt. Helps Take On Pryor’s ‘Sense of Entitlement’ Jab

Tom Cotton brought in an old friend to playfully push back against Arkansas Democrat Mark Pryor’s comment that Cotton has a “sense of entitlement” from his military service: his old drill sergeant.

In the ad, Drill Sgt. George Norton repeatedly barks orders at Cotton as he credits his time in the U.S. Army for instilling the importance of “accountability, humility, and putting the unit before yourself.” Cotton asks Norton for “permission to speak” before concluding to approve the ad’s message.

Earlier this year, Pryor came under fire for saying that Cotton, who served in the U.S. Army in both Iraq and Afghanistan, was running for Senate at a young age because of his “sense of entitlement” owing to his military service.
