Charlie noted yesterday that students at California’s Occidental College became a bit too emotionally invested in November’s midterm elections. But just a few miles south, at the University of California, Irvine, students are grieving the grand jury’s decision in Ferguson — quite literally.
“On Tuesday afternoon [November 25], UC Irvine’s counseling center offered students an opportunity to talk through their feelings about the Ferguson grand jury’s decision in a constructive space,” school spokeswoman Laura Rico told Fox News in an e-mail. The campus’s senior staff psychologist and post-doctoral fellow were both present for the counseling session, which offered “healing, grieving and support” to the distressed. About 80 students and faculty members participated.
Responding to the event, former UC regent Ward Connerly told Fox News, “The notion that they can get all riled up to the extent that they need psychological help is really pushing the envelope.”
