Just about everything concerning the Chinese state visit is sickening. One of the more sickening elements is the sight of the American and the PRC flags intertwined. But, of course, that intertwining is a perfect symbol of U.S. policy.
I remember that Bob Novak once covered some U.S.-Soviet summit. The White House handed out little pins for everyone to wear: the U.S. and the Soviet flags together. Novak refused to pin his on.
The PRC is a country with a gulag. A gulag. It’s called laogai. The intertwining of the two flags is a moral obscenity — one of many.
