Bloggers like to have fun with corrections in other publications. I like to read the fun-making, but I usually don’t engage in it. There but for the you-know-what go I.
But I want to point out something in the New York Times. And I want to ask a question: So, in a Times correction, you’re allowed to say “of course”? The following correction appeared under the paper’s (excellent) Joan Rivers obit: “An earlier version of a label that appeared with this obituary on the home page of NYTimes.com misstated the year of Ms. Rivers’s death. It was 2014, of course, not 1914.”
