Stan – I will confess to not having invested sufficient time or energy in the issue. So you may well have addressed this. But I was always led to believe that marrying your cousin could lead to all sorts of genetic abnormalities. Not as bad as brother-sister pairings, to be sure. But there’s a reason why there all put-downs of stupid people whose parents were cousins. Is this a myth? If not, have these societies seen pervasive problems as a result?
