I was gonna say, “I know that guy!”
He’s a very good, smart, solid guy. I couldn’t believe it when he told me he was the British Ambassador to Poland (Where was his monocle for starters?). He’s full of great stories, including lots of stuff about how he was running the Soviet desk while his boss was on vacation right when the coup broke in the early 90s (or something to that effect).
One more reason to go on NR cruises, you never know who you’re going to meet (though it won’t be me on this next one).
