I still don’t feel like I know enough to enter the Palin debate. But I have been watching YouTube videos of the Iron Dog snowmobile race in Alaska. Quite amazing stuff — a nearly 2,000 mile race that has at times been decided by one second. Anyway, my crucial question is this: I’ve always called those vehicles “snowmobiles.” Palin and other in Alaska call them “snow machines.” Could any readers explain?
