I don’t get out to the movies much–it’s been about a year–so I’m not exactly Mr. Movie Review. But I did manage to see Master and Commander last night. Simply put, it’s one of the best films I’ve watched in a long time. I can’t think of a better depiction of naval warfare (though I’ll admit that I haven’t seen Das Boot–a deficiency I must correct one of these days). The characters are strong, the dialogue well done, and the action thrilling. By all means, go see it. This kind of movie deserves success.
