Cruz to Head to South Carolina in November for Evangelical Pastors’ Event

For the first time since his talkathon, Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) is heading to the Palmetto State. An invitation obtained by National Review Online to an event sponsored by the South Carolina Renewal Project, quoting Proverbs 14:34 (“Righteous exalts a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people”), lists the Texas freshman as a special guest, along with Senator Tim Scott (R., S.C.), former congressman Bob McEwen, and historian William Federer. The event, running from November 4 to November 5 in Columbia, is billed as a pastors’ policy briefing and is called “Rediscovering God in America.” The invitation is also online here at the American Renewal Project’s website.
