Houston — Asked about his possible Canadian citizenship today, Ted Cruz reiterated he would renounce it, but also said the controversy represented the “silly season in politics.”
“As a U.S. senator I believe it makes sense for me only to be an American,” Cruz told reporters.
“It’s very easy for folks in the media to focus on the sideshow, to focus on the circus, to focus on the politics,” he remarked.
Cruz said he is ”not worrying about birth certificates and silly sideshows.”
