The Curse of the 50th Employee

Employers have tried to explain how Obamacare is increasing the costs of labor. Many businesses are being forced to cut hours, lay off full-time employees, or both. Public outrage has been predictably intense. And because the Obamacare fees imposed on businesses are so complex, it’s hard for employers to explain their predicament.

But the Kaiser Family Foundation has put out a helpful graphic. It shows what employers are being forced to consider, as well as the consequences if they don’t live up to Obamacare’s demands:

Suddenly it becomes clearer why it’s not worth it for employers to keep or hire that 50th full-time worker.
