I think this emailer makes two good points:
You should say something about how everyone is just assuming that gay Republicans are closeted and turn to bathroom sex. Are there no closeted gay Democrats in Washington? I’ve heard rumors [to the contrary]. . . . Also, don’t forget how crazy desire can be. Maybe there are out gay men who just like this kind of thing. We’d have to know more about Craig to be able to say whether being out would have changed his m.o.
I guess we’d have to know more, probably, than we want to know.
