Just an afternoon update on Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin: As of 1:25 Eastern Time this afternoon, he remains in critical condition in the intensive-care unit of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, a Level One trauma center, according to the team.

The Cincinnati Bengals organization tweeted this afternoon, “The Bills at Bengals game has been suspended until further notice. The NFL advised that last night’s game will not be resumed this week. No decision has been made to reschedule the game as well as any decision regarding this weekend’s schedule.”

While nothing has been decided, this coming Sunday the Buffalo Bills have a home game against the New England Patriots scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern in Buffalo. The Bengals have a home game scheduled for the same time against the Baltimore Ravens. Both the Bills and Bengals have qualified for the NFL playoffs, which begin the following Saturday. Considering the amount of time that players need between games, it is likely that last night’s game will be recorded as “no contest” and not count in the standings, as discussed in today’s newsletter.
