Now that I’ve read it again, I now know what restaurant they were in at least—I’ve had the same meal.
A “four-minute egg in his salad,” and “between bites of hanger steak and risotto” gave it away. It was Charlie Palmers, right down the street from here. Those items are from the prix fixe menu.
I’ve been here way too long….
