Death of The Sun

Peter: The death of the sun is around eight billion years in the future.

In the development of space flight, a millennium here or there will not make

a tad of difference. If the survival of the human race past the death of

the sun is our goal, our optimal strategy is probably just to continue the

steady advance of our understanding of the universe — of both the physical

and the human sciences — so that our remote descendants are fully equipped

to do whatever is necessary.
