Death Toll?

From the AP: “Authorities raised Louisiana’s death toll to 197 on Sunday.”

If this is anything close to the final number it means that many lives that were at risk were somehow saved.

In other words, if thousands are killed by a heat wave in Europe but many, many fewer are killed from catastrophic flooding in New Orleans, the implication has to be that — contrary to what just about everyone now believes — someone did something right.
