Decoding the Sexes on Valentines’ Day

James Taranto, interviewed by Mary Kissel on WSJ’s OpinionJournal, delves deep into male and female mating preferences, showing how good-looking individuals are more likely to get what they want (no surprise), but what they want is very different. Science is backing up what we all know about biological inclinations toward monogamy and hypergamy, but it can’t supply the moral ingredient necessary to transcend those instincts. It’s also a pretty funny interview.
