An e-mail response to our editorial today:
The dig on Omaha … is not deep-thinking. Where did President Bush fly to on Sept. 11? Anyone? Omaha.
Why? Offutt AF Base. The money to Omaha would upgrade the town and communications out there to handle whatever amount of Feds come their way after the next attack. If you’re the Feds, you might think that a smart terrorist would attack the place a President would go to seek refuge and command & control after the next attack. Hence, the money for Omaha….
