I have the horrible feeling that if people don’t get their acts together the immigration question will become to the American conservative movement what Europe was to the British conservative movement during the 1990s. The economic rationalization, the popular resistance, the efforts to craft a middle way that are pleasing no-one… it’s all horribly familiar.
