MSNBC and the Huffington Post have noted the altercation that took place between the Democratic candidates fighting for a Los Angeles–area House seat. The candidates, Representatives Brad Sherman and Howard Berman, nearly came to blows during a debate last night.
In the midst of a heated exchange, Sherman grabbed Berman by the shoulder and yelled, “Do you want to get into this?” prompting a deputy sheriff and a small girl to intervene. The 71-year-old Berman is the ranking Democrat on the Foreign Affairs Committee; he responded to Sherman’s aggression by telling him, “Get out of my face!”
