Dem. Rep.: Less Labor Participation under Obamacare Lets People ‘Tuck Their Child in Bed’

Representative Mark Pocan (D., Wis.) sees the Congressional Budget Office’s latest finding that there will be 2.5 million fewer jobs due to Obamacare as a positive thing for part-time workers. Because people may not have to work as much, he argued, they can spend more time with their family instead.

“What that means is instead they might be able to tuck their child in bed at night and read a bedtime story, or go to an activity, which means they’re better off,” he said at a House Budget Committee hearing on Wednesday. “At least that’s how it is in my part of Wisconsin.”
