Democratic representative Eric Swalwell of California lewdly called on House Republicans to abandon today’s vote on a continuing resolution that would defund Obamacare.
“I invite my colleagues on the other side to wake up from this radical, ideological wet dream and come back to reality,” Swalwell said on the House floor Friday morning, warning that the passage of such a bill would cause a government shutdown.
House speaker John Boehner agreed earlier this week to to allow a vote on a bill that defunds the president’s signature legislation. If it passes, the Senate will vote on the bill. Senate Republicans will face an uphill battle to garner the necessary votes to pass the legislation.
