Ravi Sangisetty is a Democrat running for a Congressional seat in Louisiana that has been in Democratic hands for six years, but if he wins, he will not vote for Nancy Pelosi to be Speaker of the House.
“I believe Washington is broken, and it’s time for new blood,” Sangisetty tells ABC News. “I’m a pro-life, pro-gun, conservative Democrat. Those are my values and the values of the people of my district. The speaker doesn’t share those values.”
Sangisetty is running for the House seat currently held by Democrat Charlie Melancon, who is running for Senate this year instead. Although Democrats have held the seat since January 2005, the district is conservative and Sangisetty is considered the underdog in the race.
