Dems Ready For “Symbolic Stand”

As Dan mentioned, House Democrats are in total disarray today trying to figure out what to do about the tax deal passed by the Senate yesterday. Most recently, a press conference by Rep. Peter Welch (D., Vt.), who was tapped to lead the floor debate in opposition the bill, has been postponed.

Most Democrats expect … Rep. Dan Boren (D., Okla) told National Review Online that some liberals would mount a “symbolic stand” over the estate tax provision, and attempt to install a rate (45 percent) that is percent higher than is included in the Senate version. “It’s odd that this has become the sticking point,” Boren said.
