Someone recently scribbled “whites only” on surfaces around DePaul University; Chicago police are investigating. The DePaul administration, however, is already blaming conservatives: In a radio interview, university spokeswoman Denise Mattson claimed that a new student group, the DePaul Conservative Alliance, has charged the atmosphere on campus, especially with an “affirmative action bake sale.” (Another spokesman later said the administration does not believe DCA was involved in the racist grafitti.)
