I have erred. Not er-ed, Rick, only erred. I described Sheldon Silver as representing a “limousine liberal” constituency. While I have no doubt there are plenty of lim-libs in New York State’s 64th Assembly district, parts of which are being gentrified, many more of Rep. Silver’s constituents are working-class or small-entrepreneurial recent immigrants from East Asia and Latin America. As I really ought to know, having once lived down there (at 279 Broome Street).
