There was a lot of mockery of Ron DeSantis for being too groveling toward Donald Trump in the Republican primary last year. But I always thought we should cut him slack because he wasn’t an op-Ed writer but a working politician who wanted to win his pro-Trump party’s nomination and actually get elected governor. That’s exactly what he did, and so far he’s off to a strong start.
