Axios reports that Ron DeSantis’s favorability among Hispanics has increased by seven points since December:

The survey does not show a mass defection to the Republican Party, but DeSantis’ favorability among Latinos improved by seven percentage points between December 2021 and March 2022, the poll shows.

46% of respondents in March had a favorable opinion of DeSantis, up from 39% from our last survey in December.

Of course, Florida’s Republicans do not need Hispanics to engage in “a mass defection” in order to do well in the midterm elections; they just need to stay competitive enough with the demographic to destroy the Democrats’ already shaky math. Add a 46 percent approval rating among Hispanics to the existing political tailwinds, and things start to look pretty good for the Ron DeSantis reelection campaign.
