Design Firm Wipes Website of References to Work on Healthcare.gov

A web-design firm founded by a former member of the 2008 Obama campaign was just a few days ago touting its role in helping to create Healthcare.gov. Now the firm has removed all information regarding its work on the Obamacare exchange website, Buzzfeed reports.

Teal Media’s homepage no longer has a link (visible on a cached version of the page) to a page describing its work on the Obamcare website. That page, which included a link to a June article from The Atlantic quoting an administration official praising the company by name, has also been taken down.

The firm, which did front-end work on Healthcare.gov, was founded by Jessica Teal, who, according to her LinkedIn page, served as the Design Manager for the 2008 Obama campaign and “oversaw [its] web and print materials,” including the main campaign website. Teal Media’s other clients include government entities such as the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission, and left-wing groups such as AFL-CIO and the Democratic National Committee.

Buzzfeed contacted the company for comment, but the woman who answered the phone referred questions to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

When she was asked about the changes to the website, she said they had been made in consultation with HHS, and again referred Buzzfeed to CMS. A CMS spokesperson refused to comment on the record about the matter.

A Tyrannical Minority and Silent Majority

The document was produced by a major ... Read More
