Detroit’s officials are known for incompetence. Even so, this is pretty pathetic.
The Detroit City Clerk and the Department of Elections put up billboards advertising the upcoming general elections, where voters will choose a mayor and city council members. Problem is, these advertisements told Detroit residents to cast their ballots on September 2 . . . and the election is actually on November 5.
As my colleague Charles Cooke quipped at today’s morning meeting, perhaps Detroit’s new plan is to disenfranchise the literate.
