Did WH Consider Delaying the Individual Mandate?

Representative Tom Price (R., Ga.) posed the question to Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary Mark Iwry today at a hearing of the House Ways and Means Committee. Iwry, it would seem, goes to great lengths to avoid saying yes.

Earlier this month, the White House announced a (unilaterally imposed) one-year delay of Obamacare’s employer mandate. The House plans to vote this evening on a bill that would codify that delay into law, as well as on a bill to delay the individual mandate for one year.
