The Digest

About a year ago, one of Armbrister’s former colleagues at Reader’s Digest, John Barron, passed away. I wrote about him here, in a piece that briefly tries to describe why the Digest–habitually sneered at by MSM elites–was once one of America’s great magazines as well as a friend to conservatives.

John J. Miller, the national correspondent for National Review and host of its Great Books podcast, is the director of the Dow Journalism Program at Hillsdale College. He is the author of A Gift of Freedom: How the John M. Olin Foundation Changed America.
