Disgraceful Boxer

I really am in no position to talk considering Schumer and Clinton are my senators, but if I were a Californian I would be livid today.

In a speech at Golden Gate University yesterday in San Francisco during which she embraced and ran with the bogus NARAL view of John Roberts (she’s rolling with the Howard Dean mission: to advance their version of facts, actual acts be damned), Barbara Boxer went on an anti-Roberts tirade.

Among many things, she said: “I need to know exactly where he will stand, and I need to know if he will fight to protect and defend the rights and freedoms of the American people.”

Excuse me, but what business exactly does a Supreme Court judge have fighting for anything. He interprets the law. That is his job. Your crusades belong in the Senate, lady.

Here’s more from Boxer, via the San Fran Chronicle:

Roberts must answer questions about his writings, his work on anti- abortion legal briefs, and his rulings as a federal appeals court judge, including a recent opinion that questioned federal authority to protect endangered species, Boxer said.

If he declines, she said, she will “use all the parliamentary tools I’ve been given as a U.S. senator,” including procedures that “make it difficult for other business to get done until we get the information we need.”

Nevermind that he has already answered questions and will undoubtedly continue to.

I always forget that no matter how slow and unreasonable the U.S. Senate is at a given time, there is usually someone working on making it even moreso.
