It seems that the Moscow Circus has been closing with an act the Russians find just hilarious. Two orangutans dressed in traditionally Jewish costumes are “married.” The Russian Jewish community is too cowed or clueless to complain. “I think it’s maybe in bad taste, but you must know that Russia is different than Western nations in its humor,” Baruch Gorin, a spokesman for the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia, told JTA (the Jewish Telegraphic Agency).
This isn’t bad taste. This is Nazi-style “humor.”
