Just wanted to pass on a tip from the Land of Lincoln;
what started out as a joke and some wishful thinking
has resulted in what might possibly continue to be one
of the most surreal and entertaining races for the
U.S. Senate – Mike Ditka may soon be the GOP nominee
for the soon to be vacant U.S. Senate seat here in
Illinois. He was on a number of morning radio shows
describing himself as “ultraconservative,” pro-life,
and that this is a nation “under God.” He has donated
a bunch of money to GOP candidates in years past and
helped out the cause here. A website put up in recent
weeks – draftditka.com – has already gotten
approximately 12,000 signatures, and the LA Times ran
with a story recently about it.
