Rich: Dodd’s retirement not only helps Democrats in Connecticut, but also around the country — he would have served well as a poster boy for the “culture of corruption” critique that minority parties always like to advance. Republicans will still make the claim and it will still have bite, but it’s losing one of its most compelling illustrations.
