A Virginia reader on campaign signs: 

I have spent many hours putting up lawn signs.  When you see a couple dozen in a median it’s a sign of two things.  One, real people won’t take the signs, so there are dozens left over.  Two, the campaign workers don’t much care.  A display like that is ugly and obtrusive, it hurts Deeds more than helps.
