Don Lemon Evidently Thinks Female Politicians Have a Very Narrow Window to Be Prime Presidential Material

Nikki Haley may be fighting an uphill battle to gain attention in the 2024 Republican presidential contest, but media figures are making things easier for her.

Not to be outdone by the attacks that Haley has received regarding her using the name “Nikki” allegedly to hide her Indian heritage (even though she has been using it since she was a child, and it’s Punjabi), CNN’s Don Lemon suggested that she was beyond her prime because that’s just what happens to women once they reach the age of 50.

“Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime,” Lemon said in a segment about her attacks on politicians such as Trump and Biden who are in their late 70s and early 80s. “Sorry, a woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s and 30s — and maybe 40s.”

When he received pushback, he said, “If you Google, ‘When is a woman in her prime?’ it will say 20s, 30s, 40s.” He claimed that he wasn’t necessarily agreeing with this, but that this is what is widely considered to be the age range for female prime.

Given that the age of presidential eligibility is 35, the Lemon standard would suggest that there is a narrow, 15-year period in which women would be prime candidates for president.

Unsurprisingly, Haley took the easy slam dunk:
