The Corner

Don’t Make Eye Contact

New Yorkers are in a emotionally vulnerable mood right now. Friday. Christmas is coming too soon. Ice/snow/rain storming all night. And no transit strike, after all, so it’s a commuting day after all. If you’re an outsider in the Big City today, just be careful. It’s not a time to be friendly to the locals. Don’t feed ‘em. Just get on your way. And walk fast, for goodness sake! We don’t have time for you to smell the roses and stare at the windows at Macy’s. They’re Christmassy. They are there every year. Move!
