The Trump team must be feeling pressure to announce some major appointments to show that the transition is on track. But they should resist it and proceed with all due deliberation. I’m sure the transition really is shambolic — this is a political and organizational task of a magnitude that the key players have never experienced. But Trump has weathered worse news environments and what’s most important is getting the right people in place, not trying to change a news cycle that is going to change anyway.
