Dubious Honor

A reader responds to my “D Word” post:

Mr. Donnelly is my congressman. A decent enough fellow, he is “conservative” when he can be, because our district is a 50-50 district. Last night he bragged to our Chamber of Commerce that he was the “7th most conservative Democrat in the House” A dubious honor, indeed.

Isn’t that a little like being the seventh-best hockey player in Ecuador?
