Dueling Falsehoods on the Economy

President Trump, a few days ago: “I built the greatest economy in the World, the best the U.S. has ever had. I am doing it again!”

His opponents at the Lincoln Project: “Obama built it. You broke it. Biden will fix it.”

What’s closer to the truth, though it wouldn’t work well as a political slogan: Generations of Americans built it. The virus broke it. Presidents have very limited influence over it.
