Mayor Ed Koch and John Cardinal O’Connor were close friends and co-authored a book, His Eminence and Hizzoner. The mayor was a regular at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for Midnight Mass and numerous other occasions. He was a believer in God who respected the role of religion in American life. For that we are grateful. His example serves as instruction for our political leaders today.
