Ehrlich on 2016

Jay Nordlinger’s favorite politician (or one of them) is Bob Ehrlich, the former GOP governor of Maryland. Ehrlich visited Hillsdale College yesterday, meeting with students and professors in the afternoon and giving a public lecture in the evening. Someone asked him who should be the Republican nominee for president in 2016. He said it should be a governor, and listed a few usual suspects: Christie, Jindal, Walker, and Jeb Bush (in that order). Then he mentioned one more, a guy whose name doesn’t normally come up in these conversations: John Kasich of Ohio. Ehrlich said he hopes that Kasich runs and thinks he will.

My profile of Kasich appeared in a recent issue of NR.
