Tom Harkin’s enthusiasm for embryo-destroying research (I have C-SPAN 2 on in the background) should serve as a challenge to Catholic universities to do better (he’s fellow Catholic University of America alum). Of course, IVF didn’t come up when he was an undergrad, but if profs made a convincing case to him on some core principles, he might be saying something different on these new challenges.
