Emory University is now a laughing stock. Radical students went nuts when someone actually had the audacity to chalk “Trump 2016″ on campus sidewalks. They didn’t feel safe. They were in anguish. They actually chanted this — “You are not listening! Come speak to us, we are in pain!” at university administrators.
At this point it’s hardly news when campus crazies go crazy, but rather than laugh — or patiently wait for the tiny crowd of demonstrators to disperse — the university president not only met with them, he pledged that university officials would review security camera footage to try to identify and punish the dastardly villains who put chalk to pavement.

Conservatives are fond of saying that radical ideas never really survive contact with the “real world.” And that is certainly true — if these radical leftists ever actually encounter the real world. Their career paths are often quite different from the typical college student. These are the people who grow up to be university administrators, tenured university faculty, progressive activists, and writers for Salon or Jezebel. To the extent they enter the world of commerce, they often do so as diversity directors at progressive corporations. Their momentary brushes with reality are mainly used as fodder for their own sense of victimization and entitlement. They’ve constructed their own “real world,” and it looks very different from yours or mine.
In fact, to the extent they encounter the outside world, they do so through cultural conquest, steadily expanding the borders of the leftist alternate reality. There are many “real worlds” now, and one of them is a leftist monoculture where extremism in the pursuit of victim status is no vice and moderation in the pursuit of social justice is no virtue.
