Sugar Land, Texas – House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) today lauded coalition forces for the late night capture of Saddam Hussein in Tikrit, Iraq.
“Today is a heroic day for the people of Iraq and the cause of human freedom,” DeLay said. “Saddam’s capture marks the ‘end of the beginning’ of the struggle for free Iraq.”
“Some doubted our cause and our strategy, but today our nation and our world are safer because of American resolve,” DeLay said. “God bless our coalition, God bless our troops, and God bless our commander-in-chief.”
“And if the infantrymen and special forces who collared that monster are ever in Sugar Land, the steaks are on me!” DeLay said.
