The End of Civility?

The Left is imploding. Last month, the economy created zero jobs for the first time since 1945. The realization is setting in among liberal leaders that the policies imposed on the country during the first two years of the Obama administration have brought us to the brink of disaster. That explains the nuclear tirades directed at conservatives and Tea Party members, people like you and me — tirades like the recent one from Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa Jr., a thug who comes from a long line of thugs: “We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. … President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these sons of b—s out and give America back to an America where we belong.”

Or the one from Rep. Maxine Waters (D., California): “The Tea Party can go straight to hell, and I intend to help them get there.”

Or Rep. Andre Carson (D., Indiana): “Some of them in Congress right now with this Tea Party movement would love to see you and me — I’m sorry, Tamron — hanging on a tree.”

These statements are proof of two things: 1) The Left is realizing the country is turning against big-spending liberal policies and they can’t handle it, and 2) the 2012 campaign will be nothing but personal attacks from the left against conservatives and Tea Party members. The above comments were just from the past week or so, and both President Obama and DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz have given their tacit approval with their silence. Even when pointedly asked by Fox’s Gretchen Carlson, Wasserman demurred. Hey, what happened to her call for civility?

They’re not just hypocrites; they’re revealing their campaign strategy for 2012.

They are backed into a corner and have no way out but to attack, attack, attack. A Wall Street Journal poll released today found that 49 percent of union members and union households disapprove of the job President Obama is doing, while 45 percent approve. That’s a plurality of union members and union households agreeing with conservatives and the Tea Party.

Are they SOBs too? President Obama, Chairwoman Schultz, what say you? With dismal numbers like these and no light on the horizon, Hoffa and his goons are surely at the ready to march against the Tea Party to try and attack their way back to relevance.

Violence is nothing new for unions. Members of the Communication Workers of America attacked a female FreedomWorks activist in February, union protestors threatened to break the neck of a Fox News reporter during a broadcast earlier this year in Wisconsin, and in September of last year, AFL-CIO leader Richard Trumka praised Nancy Pelosi for taking Obamacare and driving “it down the Republicans’ throats and out their backsides.”

The professional Left knows the day of reckoning is coming, when the American people will call them to account for what they have done to our economy and our country. Their response will be to blame you, blame your family, blame your neighbors, and blame anybody but themselves. And this is just the beginning.
