I wrote a couple of weeks ago about how it’s time to retire the “but Gorsuch” meme. The tax bill may now tip conventional wisdom into the view that Trump has actually accomplished a number of important things this year:
If this bill passes, Trump-GOP will have:
•Repealed the ACA individual mandate
•Cut taxes by $1.5 trillion
•Opened up ANWR to oil drilling
•Put Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court
•Confirmed a dozen appellate judges
•Killed a lot of regulationsThis is not a trivial agenda.

And that tweet leaves out a number of noteworthy (and praiseworthy, in my view) actions, such as the increased immigration enforcement and the speech recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Trump’s first year has been rocky — and there will certainly be more rockiness ahead — but we can’t say that we’ve come up empty handed.
